Hello,

I am currently looking into childcare options for my baby due in january. We only need a part-time nanny because my husband only works 3 times a week.

I met up with another woman who lives in the same building as me and she currently has a nanny for her 8 month old that she really likes and is very happy with her. When I told her that I was looking for a nanny she suggested that we do a nanny share since we're in the same building and it would cut the cost for both of us. Her nanny was agreeable and we have a meeting scheduled next week to go over everything.

At first, I thought it was a great idea because I would be using a nanny who had experience and was recommended as someone who is trustworthy and reliable. It would make it so much easier for us than to have to find someone else from scratch who is willing to do part-time and who would be someone we could trust.

But now that I'm thinking about it, I'm a little concerned about the logistics of taking care of a baby who will be 2 months old and the other child who will be 1 yr old by then. They would most likely have different napping and feeding schedules and I'm afraid that what ever routine I establish for my baby while I'm on maternity leave will not be followed by the nanny since it won't coincide with the other child's routine.

Anyone have any experience with a nanny share of a baby and toddler? I really want to try to make it work but I also want what's best for my baby.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
