I think something like this is cute. Could trace and use cut outs of all of your hands! adding more!

@chopsuey: That is what I was thinking......I can't think of anything else to do to involve R. Although I will stay away from the paint since the pumpkin fail! I like the idea of felt!

Right now, the only art that Pete makes at daycare is "shape art." They cut out different colored shapes, put some gluestick glue on the back, and then he kind of pushes the shape down on the paper where he wants to. I don't think it's very intentional but it's their way of including him in the project and I love to see it hanging on the walls! Maybe you could cut out a cute turkey body/face and then give R some long pre-cut, pre-glued oval shaped pieces of paper to put down where she pleases? To make it look like feathers?
It's so hard to make art at this age!

Our school does this and the kids have to disguise the turkey. It's really cute to see what people come up with.

For the first pic, you could use her footprint, and add your preference of feathers (seems there are millions of options for those)
For the second one, you can use her hand print, and let her tear up paper, then glue on the paper scraps.
