How do you knw when to go up to the next nipple size? We have been using #2 for a month or so. When should we go up to #3?

You can tell by how long its taking your baby to finish the milk, and also if they seem to be straining to get it out. You can also just try the next size up and see if they do ok with it. If they arent ready for it then they may choke a little or spill lots of milk everywhere then you know you have to wait a bit longer

I want to say we used number 2's for a really long time, like months before we switched to 3...I think it was because we also introduced solids at the time and didn't want him to guzzle his formula.

We knew to go up in nipple size when he was sucking so hard he would either choke or deform the bottle.

Thanks! He is starting to deform the bottle, so I think I am going to try number 3.
