Someone booked the pumping room directly after when I have it, so I can no longer take my sweet time making sure to get the girls empty! Boooo! I left 5 minutes early and she was already there waiting! I'm never going to pump enough for Xander now! *sob*

I have to pump for a decent amt of time to get what LO needs and to empty "the girls". Where I work there is a room but its first come first serve. I kept needing to go one week and someone would be in there. So now I dont even bother with the room and just go to my car. Its actually more comfrotable than the tiny cold room anyways.

@Adira: The nerve of her! Is there anyway you can switch up the times you pump? Is there a closet you can go to? Your car?

@Mrs Green Grass: I have the room for 30 minutes, so I probably am pumping for about 20 minutes.
@Rescuemom10: @Smurfette: I wish I could pump in my car, but my pump doesn't have a car adapter. And I don't think there are any closets I could use. Maybe a conference room, but finding a free one can be challenging.

@Adira: I was just going to suggest what @dagret: did. We bought one a couple years ago at Walmart for like $10.
Plugs into the lighter. DH will use it to work in his laptop while in the car. -

@dagret: @Smurfette: Say what! What is this power converter thing you speak of?? I'll have to look into that. Only problem though is that our parking lot is like a mile long (okay, it's only 1/3 mile long) and it takes me 10 minutes to walk to my car, so I'm not sure I can really afford to be away from my desk for as long as I would need to. Blurg!

@Adira: we had 30 minute time slots and it worked out well. We got really good at setting up and cleaning up quickly so we could pump extra long.

@T.H.O.U.: I guess I need more practice. It still takes me five minutes after I'm done to clean up and put everything away.

@Adira: what is your process?
I used to seriously fly unplugging and throwing stuff in my bag and capping the milk. I didn't unassemble my pump parts I just threw them in a zip lock.

If clean up is part of the problem, what process do you do? I pump in my car, pour the milk into a 3rd bottle to store it, and put my pump parts in a cooler bag. Washing happens at home. Once I'm done pumping, I'm outta the car in less than 2 minutes.

I agree - let's help speed up your process! Make you sure have enough sets of parts for each session at work. Then just toss them in a bag!

I think I'm just slow...? Once I'm done pumping, I do the following:
Remove pump parts/bottles from bra
Remove bra
Remove pump parts from bottles
Hand Express into bottles (I'm never empty *cry*)
Cap Bottles, put into cooler
Put pump parts in baggies
Unplug and throw Pump into pumping bag
Put pump parts and bra into bag - zip
Put real bra and shirt back onThis whole thing takes me about 5 minutes. Maybe a little less. But I'd guess hand expressing itself takes me a minute or two. I suppose I could always pump a couple extra minutes, but I try to stop pumping around 5 minutes to when I have to leave. I'm afraid of running over into the next girl's time slot.
