Do you wear your old bras, or only nursing bras?
I have three nursing bras, but none of them have any support whatsoever and with the size of my chest it gets really uncomfortable.
I started wearing some of my old bras, but it's a pain to try to feed him... I deal since when I'm not nursing I'm more comfortable.
Did you pay high $$ for a supportive nursing bra (I have my eye on a few from cake lingerie!), or do you wear your old bras?

Only nursing bras. There's no way I could fit into my old bras. I've been wearing nursing ones with no underwire, and I wish they had more support.

@Coco Bee: I WISH I were my former size. I'm huge. Almost 11w pp. How long did it take to return to your former size? The only ones I have are Bravado Body Silk Seamless. I liked them at first because they are really comfortable. Now, they're still comfy and convenient, but they just don't have the support I need, and I feel a bit frumpy.

I wear regular bras most of the time. I'm too cheap to spend a wad on more supportive or cute nursing bras and I feel frumpy in mine. If I'm going out or not just lounging around I wear my regular bras. Luckily my bra collection consists of two sizes, my regular and then the size I used to wear when I'd gained a bit of weight... so my "fat" bras work perfectly.

I'm a tight wad when it comes to spending money on clothes and I only wear nursing bras and tanks. That being said, I bought my tanks from Target but spent $$ on my Bravado nursing bra. I need to get another one before I go back to work so I have options. I haaaaaaate spending money on nursing bras but can't fit my new jugs into my old bras. Boo.

@Coco Bee: I did splurge on two 'hot milk' bras. They are great. I have a less-great one from some maternity store. I am quite abusive to my bras (washed with the cloth diapers, hot water, cold rinse, and then thrown into the dryer) and they are holding up really well. Glad I splurged.

@pregnantbee: I am 6 months pp and just started wearing my normal bras this past week because I was too lazy to do laundry lol!
I am not only frumpy... but EBF has made my breasts saggy. ugh. so depressing. I'm in my 20's, this should not be happening! I cannot believe how much younger I look when I wear a properly fitting and supportive bra!

I got my "old" bras converted! I bought 2 nursing bras and one of those dumb "one size fits all nursing bras" (about as useful as a yoga sports bra and less supportive. Money not well spent.)
Then I got the bras from pregnancy altered. They basically just chopped the strap off at the front seam and added a hook and eye. Sometimes I lose the strap behind my back if I am wearing certain loose shirts. They fit amazing though and I feel pretty in them. Well worth it!
I am kind of a bra snob since I can look like I lost 10+ lbs just by wearing a good bra. I NEED a good bra like some people need a good pair of jeans.

I wear nursing bras and sports bras right now. It seems like everytime I tried to wear my old bras with underwire I got a clogged duct. Now I'm too afraid to try again, even though they are much more supportive.

I have 3 nursing bras and 2 tanks. Bras are all gilligan & o'malley from target. One is very stretchy (more of a sleep/errands bra). One is a simple lightly padded wireless one. This one is not the right size anymore since I bought it like 1 week pp. I still wear it though. The other is underwire and lacy and pretty. I have only worn this one like twice for fear of mastitis/clogged ducts. The tanks are from wal-mart and I wear them under most things when I am just running around. I have a black one and a grey one. I never wear a regular bra anymore.

I am a huge bra snob. My regular bras are really high end, running in the $100-$200 dollar range per bra, I wouldn't want to use them for nursing because I would stretch the crap out of them by pulling my giant knocker out of the cup.
I wear only nursing bras/tanks. The best ones IMO are hot milk, they are really supportive and well built.
Cake lingerie ones are good, but go for the more structured ones (liquorice), or ones with a "full sling" (blue cheesecake), because they offer more support. Avoid the ones like coconut ice and french vanilla.
For nursing tanks, glamourmom tanks have the most "bra-like" support.

@MsMini: I so prefer full sling. Only the stretchy bra I have has it and I can't find anything with full sling in a store!

@MsMini: LOL. I have the same snobbiness and the lingerie shop showed me the ones I can convert and I got them converted about 5 weeks after LO was born. I only wear my bras for 6-12 months anyway, so I guess it still works for me and my snobby bras.
I did get one from le mystere that was actually made as a nursing bra. Love that one!

I got some medela underwire ones for the first six months and then I was able to go to some normal bras. I can't live w/o an underwire!

Geez I'm so glad this was posted...I literally cannot even believe how big my boobs have gotten! I thought for sure a M nursing bra would be big enough, but I think I'm going to have to bump up to an L. I have just been wearing the Gilligan O'Malley from Target ones...but wondering if I should invest in different ones.

Is anyone here scared of underwire nursing bras? In terms of clogged ducts, etc, does it really matter if we wear a well fitting underwire? I haven't bought underwire for that reason.
@lydg: Welcome to the club. I feel like mine post-baby should really belong on someone else's body. At 11w pp, I'm starting to get more used to them, but I'm busting out of most pre-preg tops.

@pregnantbee: My hot milks are underwire, and I have had clogged ducts 3 times, but I dont' attribute the wires to it....more my oversupply issues. The underwires for nursing are very soft and they go back further behind your armpit than a normal bra so that it doesn't cause the problem. And now that I've had clogged ducts 3 times, I'm not even scared of them anymore because I am good at getting them out (constant hot water bottle, olive oil on nursing pads, and make baby nurse a lot).

I wear only nursing tanks and bras. I love the glamour mom nursing tanks. I haven't found a nursing bra I like yet.

My old bras don't fit, so I wear nursing bras. I hate them and the support is terrible, but if I'm going to buy bigger bras to fit while I'm nursing, they might as well be nursing bras.

I wear only target nursing tanks anymore. I'm a DD at least. I am a little saggy and definitely pokey. But they are so much more convenient. They cover my tummy and back and pull down. I have at least one underwire I used during pregnancy but can't stand it now that I nurse. I figure that once I stop nursing real bras will fix the problems. At 16 months in it isn't uncomfortable anymore.
