I bought an Elomi on Amazon using the recommendation to go up a cup size for nursing bras. Nordstrom fitting confirmed I am in the right size- 38 GG, although I can go on the last rung for a snug, comfortable fit. At the store they don't have any sleep bras that I can try on to see how or if they fit.
I'm not even sure why I would need a bra to sleep in because I don't sleep in one now. Any recommendations from those of you with 36/38 bands and very large chests.

I just use the target giilligan O'Malley ones. I'm a 38FF while nursing.
I stop wearing sleep bras once I stopped leaking around eight weeks. At that point I just sleep in a tank.

Sleep bras are nice because they help hold breast pads in place - not everyone has leakage issues but I needed pads around the clock for the first year with my LO. I didn't have over supply just leaky taps.
I continued wearing them even after I stopped needing them for the pad placement because my breasts were more tender and appreciated the support and as LO got older it prevented him from twiddling the breast that was not being nursed on.
I don't have any ideas about where to find them in your size though- hopefully someone else can chime in.

I was a 40DD and wore them until about 8 weeks. Then I went to just tanks. I had leaky boobs.

Sleep bras hold nursing pads in place. You might be lucky and not leak much. I'm still wearing a bra and nursing pads around the clock and my baby is 8 months.

@akcoffeebean: lol at leaky taps. But yeah everything you said. I have been wear nursing tanks to sleep since my 2.5 yo was born, even after she stopped nursing. I just feel more comfortable with a bit of support. You may not need sleep bras though, a soft nursing tank would work to hold pass in place. And it doesn't need to be very supportive since it's just for sleep- cheap is good I think. That said I'm more like a 36D nursing do not as large as you.

I just wore a tank w a shelf bra and that held the nursing pads pretty good. However, I'm about a 34B so our bra needs sound different, lol!

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I'm a size '34 I' now and plan to wear the nursing tanks I got from Nordstrom to bed. They are from their in house line. So soft I can't wait to wear them!!

My only concern with nursing tanks- the ones I saw at the mall (A Pea in the Pod & Macy's Motherhood Maternity section) are the thin straps and built in shelf bra. Neither are all that comfortable when boobs just don't fit in them.
The explanation of why sleep nursing bras are good from all of you was way better than the sales clerk at A Pea in the Pod. She said your breasts will get heavy and it provides support. To which I replied if you're already used to heavy breasts then you don't need them? Correct. Thankfully I already wrote my post.
In other news, cotton tunic sleepwear was on sale at Macy's. They have extra long zipper openings in the front. I picked up two. 
Those should be good for MOTN nursing and not add pressure to my abdomen if I end up getting a cesearean.

I was 40F or G when nursing. I liked the XL sleep bra from Motherhood. Nursing tanks didn't really fit me.

@oliviaoblivia: Which ones did you choose? Fit may be the same. Dunno. Looking at the size chart I would be an XL, which translates to a 38 DD. Did you ever pop out by accident in the MOTN?
@Autumnmama79: How big is an "I" size, I can't find it on a chart. Did you follow your band or cup size when choosing the tank per the size chart? If I follow my band I'm a M.

before baby I used to sleep in a soft crop top (16D boobs). Post partum I definitely need a bra to sleep in, can't manage without one (16E). I just wear a soft cotton nursing bra with soft padded straps, I need the support but the cotton keeps it comfy for night. Mine is Berlei but not sure if they sell those over in the US.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I found that the Gilligan O'Malley sleep bras run small and that the bottom band rides up. I was not happy with how they fit. And the elastic edges fold up on themselves. I like their nursing tanks though, especially the ones that were smoothing through the tummy.
I think bravado and Cake make nursing tanks with sized built in bras.
bravado is expensive compared to target or H&M but I really like the seamless silk nursing bras and the few tanks I have from them. They lasted through two years of nursing with my son and are in shape for use with LO 2.

I could never wear a nursing tank (I'm a 36 G/H) but I do have Pea in the Pod nursing sleep bras that I absolutely love and have used from roughly 36 weeks until now (I'm 8 months pp). Unfortunately I don't know if I'm an L or an XL in them. But they fit me well and I do occasionally fall out of the bras (I'm a side sleeper so it's not a surprise) but I like them a lot.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I was professionally fitted at another lingerie boutique where I got my nursing bras. I fit the size medium in the Nordstrom nursing tank, which is surprising considering how big my boobs are!

I only wore a sleep bra and he first few weeks when I was leaking, to hold pads in place. I bought cheapies from Target and it worked fine.

I preferred to wear an old tee shirt and just let my breasts leak. That was more comfortable for my big girls than any kind of shelf bra, tank, etc.

Just chiming in that at least for me, a sleep bra was absolutely necessary for many months to hold nursing pads in place, otherwise I woke up with the mattress completely soaked. I had some very leaky taps for quite a while.

I am a little bigger than you and sleep in a regular nursing bra at night. I have slightly more larger ones just for sleeping because I like a more relaxed fit, but you could also achieve that with a bra extender.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I have a hand me down of that bravado one you posted, from my sister who is I think a 34G. It's really soft and stretchy- so while the chest is a little big for me I have still comfortably worn it to bed many times. That's a good point about shelf bra tanks and your boobs just not fitting in them, I was only thinking of the support factor.
I have the two pack of nursing bras from target and am meh on them. I find it hard to pull them over and have them stay that way. I prefer something that just un clips down at night.

I'm a 36G when nursing and use a Bravado cotton bra or a Medela one. Both of these don't offer enough support during the daytime but are fine at night.

I use a bra at night because I leak in the early weeks and my nipples are too sensitive for quite a while even after leaking has stopped. (I wore a nursing bra for about a year PP, I nursed until 14.5m).

I ended up buying the Bravado double plus bra and nursing tank since it was based on cup size through Amazon. They should be here pretty soon. Now, I just need to make sure I have a starter pack of breast pads.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I love the Bravado tanks! I couldn't use them in the very early weeks when my boobs were super duper huge but after about a month PP my breast size had settled down a little and I was fine in the 36F/G. I had to loosen the straps quite a bit so that it wouldn't dig to much into my breast.

Update: Love my Bravado bra & nursing tank! I wear the bra night & day- it's so comfortable. The tank is amazing. I still can't believe I am able to wear just the tank out and feel supported.
