When did you offer your lo shellfish and nuts for the first time?
M hasn't had either yet and she is 11 months old. We just don't eat nuts or shellfish all that often so I haven't had a chance to offer them.

Her ped cleared peanut butter at her 1 year so I don't have issues giving her nut products anymore. But straight up hard nuts I think I'm going to wait just because I'm not sure she can chew it yet?
She had a little taste of shrimp probably 2 months back? But nothing in large capacity. We eat a lot of shellfish in the summer so I'm sure she'll get to try it soon.

Our LO hasn't had any nuts or shellfish yet. We don't really eat shellfish even though I love it, but DH has a sensitivity to it (he gets migraines from shellfish). We will probably let her try peanut butter soon, but nothing else really. I get so afraid because my mom is allergic to all nuts except for peanuts.

We are planning to give LO peanut butter before her 1 year checkup.
She's had fish before a few times, but I don't think she has had any shellfish yet.
ETA: she has had dishes with peanuts and other nuts in them/in a sauce (like Kung Pao chicken, chicken with almonds, etc.) but has not had straight up nuts by themselves, or peanut butter yet.

We're going to try both of these after she turns 1. Her pediatrician told us that for all of his kids he waited until a year for shellfish, peanuts, and honey so that's what he recommends. We had already decided on that but it was nice to hear it from him.

At around one year, my son showed interest in a piece of shrimp on my plate, so I let him try it. I think he liked dipping it in the mango chutney more than anything.
As for nuts, peanut butter at around 14 months. Love at first lick.

We knew Lala was cashew allergic from 8 months onward, so we gave her peanut butter around a year when we had a doctor's appointment (allergist) so that she'd be in a safe place if she had a reaction. For M. we just did it early, but we had no reason to think she had any allergies.

@Mrs. Jacks: My friend was so scared the first time she gave her LO peanut butter. She was sitting in the parking lot by the hospital's emergency room..just in case!
We gave peanut butter at 10 months and shellfish at 12 months.

He had some lobster salad around 11 months with no issue.
Haven't tried nut byproducts yet.
Cow's milk is next on our list and so I'm not going to give nuts til after we're in the clear on that.

@Freckles: That's a good idea for kids who are atopic. I tell parents to just plan it around the 12 month visit to their primary care doc.
