I have the opportunity to travel for work the week after baby turns 1 this summer. I'd be gone for 8-9 days. I'm optimistically hoping I'll still be nursing then. Will pumping be enough to maintain supply? How many times a day would I have to? How many times a day does a 12 month old nurse? Since I work part time, I only pump a couple of times a week, and I'm never that successful, so I'm wondering if a week or more of attempting to would dry or diminish my supply. What's your experience?

I traveled for work when LO was 11 months, but only 4 days. I pumped 4-5x a day while I was gone. We are still nursing at 18.5 months now!

I don't have experience with this, but I wonder if a 1 year old might wean themselves after a week away from mama? You could maintain your supply & keep pumping but I feel like there's a chance your LO may not want the breast after that? I could be wrong!

@daniellemybelle: oh that is such a good point! You know what, I don't want that to be the reason he weans. I'll probably have to rethink this trip.

@daniellemybelle: we're actually looking into that! Maybe we can turn this into a road trip. DH and I both teach, so we have a little flexibility over the summer.
