I found out from my daycare yesterday that since DS misses the school cut-off he'll do pre-k twice. I really like my daycare but they don't do kindergarten. Our other option is that we could send him to private kindergarten (at another daycare or at a private school) and then would go to public school for first grade.

This is a few years off because DS is just under 2, but if we were to decide that we wanted to do the private K thing, we could send him to one of those schools next year.

On one hand I love our daycare and I don't want to move him. On the other hand, I hate to put him in a school for just one year and then transfer him yet again. But I'm not really liking the idea of making him repeat the year of pre-k either. I struggled with boredom in school starting in first grade because it was too easy. I never really developed great habits around schoolwork because I wasn't interested in it. I don't want the same to happen to DS.
