When I was pregnant with Mavrick, I opted out of the prenatal classes. I had many friends who said they either liked it or didn't. I decided not to do it and I don't regret it what so ever.
Did you have prenatal classes? If you opted out like me, did you regret it afterwards?

We did them, the 1 day Saturday class, and it was a joke. I just think there was way too much stuff to condense into one class and our instructor wasn't that great. With such a limited amount of time she still thought it was necessary to spend the first 1.5 hours getting to know the couple to you...what that has to do with labor and delivery I still do not know. I wish she would have used that time to maybe go over breathing techniques for more than 5 minutes (literally 5 minutes spent here) or something. Next time if we do them again I want to take a birthing technique specific class.

We are doing it. I don't care if it's a waste or not, it's something I feel like we need to do. We are doing weekend condensed - all day Saturday and Sunday in one weekend.

I did them and I'm glad I did. I learned a lot! The newborn class wasn't that great- but I know if I didn't do it I would have just wondered what I missed. But I loved childbirth, breastfeeding, and infant CPR.

No classes. I'm not sure if they would have helped or not. I prefer reading at my own pace then sitting in class though.

We did a weekend intensive that was geared towards natural childbirth in a birth center or the home. The teacher was awesome and we learned a lot and it made us more confident in our decision.
We also did a baby care class which was great for my husband who has no baby experience and a breastfeeding class. I thought all the classes we took were great.

We're so clueless and freaked out about having a baby that we signed up for a ton of classes. We did the 3-session childbirth class, an extra class on pain management and active birthing techniques, and we're going to breastfeeding class next week. We also want to do an infant care class, but they're all full until my due date

After a lot of debate, we decided not to do them (but I am an NICU nurse, so I have a lot of knowledge/experience in baby care, labour and delivery, and postpartum care). DH didn't want to go, and he would rather I teach him stuff, so throughout pregnancy I have taken time here and there to get him up to speed on what to expect.

We did them. 4 weeks of 3 hour classes. I found them really good and they helped relax me about childbirth and feel confident that I could do it. They were offered by the midwives at the hospital birthing centre we were using.

We opted out, but we chose to hire a doula. She's basically doing a personal prenatal class in our prenatal meetings.

We took all the classes and I don't regret it! I wish there were more breastfeeding classes!

I definitely want to take the breastfeeding and infant CPR classes offered at our hospital, but we haven't decided yet on the childbirth prep classes.

We did them. I felt like a lot if what we learned was common sense but I got some quality time with dh so I think it was worth it.

We only took the breastfeeding class....which after having LO, I feel that it only went over general things. You definitely will learn more on Hellobee, Kellymom, etc. I did feel a little uneasy going into the hospital without taking the other classes but after delivery, I feel that my doctor and nurse were so informative throughout my whole stay there that I'm kind of glad we saved the money and decided not to take other classes. It would've been for peace of mind

I think apart from breastfeeding classes... its all common sense. I mean, I figured my body would know what to do come labour!

I plan on taking all the available classes, more for my husband than myself. I think it will help him understand what to expect as he is very clueless when it comes to this kind of sutff. It will be nice for me too, even though I'm a researcher and think I'm pretty well informed on what to expect.

We both kind of feel like it will be a waste, but are doing a one day Saturday childbirth class anyways. I just feel like since it's our first kids, it's something we are supposed to do and I would feel like a slacker if I didn't go! Also, I'm taking a breastfeeding class (and don't know if DH will come).
