I had a ton of supply issues in the beginning with both kids, but with a combination of blessed thistle and fenugreek (I took 3 pills of each 3 times a day, so 18 pills total daily), and More Milk Plus (the tincture, not the pills, and I took the dosage recommended for 175lbs + even though I'm under that), I was able to up to my supply. My daughter was EBF until 2.5 years, and my son is still nursing at age 1 It takes about a week to see an increase, but it totally worked for me.

@pinkcupcake: Oh sweet! I hope I am able to at least get to a year!

I'm wondering if my pill has anything to do with the decrease too.

I had a pretty big drop in my pumping supply two weeks ago (LO is 8 months old) and I was able to bring it back up to what I was producing with the following supplement:

    UpSpring Milk Flow

They sell it at target and amazon.

Didn't taste too bad (I got the Berry flavor) I just mixed it in with one of the bottles of water I drank during the day and chugged it when it was still cold.

@bubblegum: do you mean birth control pill? I was on that (not the mini pill, but the low dose estrogen one). It totally tanked my supply So, once I was done with it last week, I told DH that I'm not starting a new pack. He needs to get on making an appt to get snipped. lol. I'm done with hormones (I went through IVF).

I'm doing the Legendairy pills too and haven't seen too much of a change yet. But, it sounds like it might take time and perhaps I need a different combo.

Good luck! I know how hard it is to keep going and you are doing an awesome job, mama!

@broadwaygal: I actually jsut got DH to pick that up but the chocolate one! Fingers crossed!!

@NorthStar: Really?! I'm on the mini pill, camila to be exact. Maybe I should just call it quits and see what happens? Did you milk go up after you stop taking the pill? Thank you so much love

@bubblegum: I heard/read the chocolate one is good with warm milk kind of like hot chocolate. Let me know I might try that one next!

    Good Luck!

I took fenugreek, blessed thistle, and brewers yeast--all pills that I ordered from Amazon. The combination definitely did the trick for me!

@bubblegum: I was on the sugar pills all last week, so I had my period. I'm sure that didn't help my supply either. I should have started a new pack of BCP on Sunday; however, didn't. I do think that my supply has increased a tiny bit, but it could be due to not being on the pill and not having my period. I'm doing 2 supplements from Legendairy, as well as brewers yeast tablets. I do have a huge stash in my freezer, but DS is only 5.5 months, so I was hoping to not have to dig into it much at this point.

The past few weeks, I've used at least 5-6 bags of frozen milk each week. This week, I've only had to use 1! I consider that to be progress!!

@NorthStar: I haven;t gotten my period just yet and DD is 3 months so we'll see. I'm thinking I'm going to try this supplement and if that doesn't work, I'll stop BC just to see if it's that. Whatttt you're lucky! I wish I had a freezer stash

@bubblegum: Good luck! He only wakes once at night to eat and when he does, only eats on one side. So, after I feed him, I pump the other side. I've been able to put almost 300oz in my freezer because of that! lol. But, I'm still hell bent on not depleting it!

@NorthStar: WHAT!!! That's a hell of a lot! DD sleeps through the night so I'm usually knocked out and don't do a late night pumping session

@bubblegum: I wouldn't get up if he wasn't waking. But, he doesn't wake until 4 or 5am (from 6pm), so my boobs are sore! lol. I'll eventually stop pumping when he wakes

Boatloads of water, milkflow drink, brewer's yeast oat bites I made, and fenugreek. I was also on the 3 capsules 3X a day. My IBCLC said a good way to tell if you are getting enough fenugreek to make a difference is that your sweat/skin should start to smell like maple syrup!

Have you tried eating oatmeal? to be fair, I never really had supply issues, but I did eat a ton of oatmeal in the first months I was nursing (like, a bowl for breakfast every morning). I figured it couldn't hurt, and I love oatmeal anyway, so...

@theotherstark: I do want to try oatmeal once I see if the milkflow drink is working first.

@agold: yes!! Please let me know
