Yup! Like you said you just can't add to it later.

For example, I liked to freeze in 4oz bags. If I pumped 4oz, great I would immediately freeze it. But if I just had 3oz, I would wait for another ounce and then freeze at once.

All my pumped milk went straight to the freezer! I froze flat, 4 oz at a time.

I used to pump and put it in the fridge to add to it, but now I pump enough to fill a freezer bag (6-8oz) and it goes directly into the freezer.

Yes you can freeze directly, but sometimes i prefer to let it cool down in the fridge first since it can be quite warm when its freshly pumped
