in December I will be flying to Texas for a 4 day trip with DH.
LO will be 6mo old so most likely I will still be pumping.
How does it work flying with a pump? What do I need to know? I'm clueless lol

Not a problem. Just bring your pump and cooler bag with you. It does not count towards your carry ons. You can bring ice/ice packs and any BM with you through security (tell them you have medical liquids).
Where are you staying? Hotels can bring a mini fridge to your room to store while you are there.

@MrsBeluga: about 2 hours so I'm assuming I will pump before I get on the plane ... in the bathroom I'm guessing
@T.H.O.U.: thank you!

@Mrs. Pickles: Keep an eye out for the family bathrooms in the airports. That's where you're most likely to find an outlet and a closed stall. I also got a battery pack adapter for mine too which was really convenient for all the other travel times where I couldn't find a bathroom with an outlet.

@Mrs. Pickles: Yea, look for family bathrooms and some are now offering mothers lounges. I brought my nursing cover and found a quiet corner before. It wasn't so bad.

With two hours you should be good on the flight, just pump before and after. Some airports have nursing/pumping rooms, some still have a "nursing stall". Don't be afraid to pump anywhere - the only people that will give you a weird look are young people without kids. Most people who have had kids totally get it and understand.
Here is a link to TSA's viewpoint on BM:

@Mrs. Pickles: When I was EPing for my first, if it was a flight shorter than 3 hours, I just pumped in the car on the way to the airport, and then in the car after the flight landed (usually we were renting a car or a parent was picking us up).
On the few longer flights I took, I pumped in my seat on the plane (my husband was next to me, I was in the window) under a cover.
And once, I pumped just to relive pressure in the bathroom stall with a manual pump.

I just flew last week with my pump. It wasn't a problem at all. I took a soft sided mini cooler with me with ice packs for LOs bottles on the way over and on the way back had frozen bags of milk in it. Google thr airports before you go. Knoxville surprised me with a nursing mothers room. i brought a hand pump just in case (I don't travel without one after someone threw out my membranes 4th of July weekend. Teaser: they are impossible to find in a garbage bag full of pork ribs. ). I just told TSA I had milk in my bags. They pulled it out once to scan the bottle.
Is LO coming with you? Just think about how much milk you will be bringing back if LO isn't. You'll need cooler space; possibly dry ice depending on the travel time. Or you could ship it as a last resort.
Make sure your pump (or at least the hand pump) stays with you on the plane. It would be terrible to have to gate check it and then get stuck on the Tarmac.
Hmmm, what else. I had zero trouble with my flights. No one gave me a hard time.
