I'm curious... does anyone find pumping more convenient than nursing? Why?

Yep! Because I know how much he gets. It's less time consuming in the early months. He sleeps really well

I think nursing is easier, I hate cleaning pump parts! LO is also a slower bottle drinker, she is much better at the breast.

I find nursing so much easier since you don't have to lug around a pump, clean the parts, remember to bring bottles, etc. It also takes twice the amount of time since you have to spend time pumping, then spend time feeding.

Nursing is so much easier than pumping. I'm hating pumping right now since I stopped fenugreek and my supply seems lower. I'm beating myself up about this right now. Discontinuing fenugreek seems to have helped LO's gas and is sleeping better, so I'm struggling with what I can use to increase my milk supply.

Not at all. I absolutely loathe pumping! It takes way longer than nursing (P empties my breast in about 5-7 minutes and pumping for 30 minutes doesn't empty them anymore) and I don't have to worry about cleaning pump parts or storing milk.

@sunshineandsushi: haha it seems I'm the minority here. I think I'm pro pumping bc my dd went on a bottle strike when she was 2 months old and I nursed her until she was 15 months old. It was really inconvenient not being able to get away from her for more than 3 hrs.
My DS is 1 month old and I give him pumped milk. He sleeps 6-7 hour stretches at night, eats and sleeps another 4-5. It's awesome.

@chopsuey119: I think I'm with you though! So far, I'm finding it easier and quicker to pump and feed my twins than it is to nurse them.

I hate pumping...nursing is way easier IMO. I give exclusive pumpers so much credit!

I hate cleaning pump parts and the whole production of pumping!!! I'd much rather nurse!

Nursing is easier in my opinion, its just a matter of getting the boob out and latching on, pumping means washing, storing, lugging around everywhere. Nursing is definitely more convenient in my opinion.

I hope we get to try exclusive nursing! I like knowing what I'm making with pumping and that DH can feed lo, but I would love for breastfeeding to work when lo comes home from the nicu!

I DO NOT like pumping, but you gotta do what you gotta do! Nursing is way easier and LO gets the job done faster and more efficiently than the pump...but I don't know how I'd feel if I had to nurse 2 babies at the same time!

@chopsuey119: he is 1 month, lol!
Nursing is so much easier. I can't bring myself to pump
in the middle of the night every night. You can just nurse in bed and pass out.

@Andrea: hahahhah typo! I wish he was 5 months old!

No way! Pumping takes longer than nursing, and then there is the time of feeding the baby the pumped milk on top of that, not to mention cleaning all the stuff and looking ridiculous for x minutes (I would breastfeed in front of other people, but never pump).

nursing is a lot easier and takes less time...the only thing is I get nervous that she's not eating enough
