LO is 12 1/2 weeks old and this week I've implemented a strict nap routine to try and get us on track with naps, and it's worked beautifully. We follow EASY, except she nurses before and after naps, so it's more like EAESY.
When she nurses before naps she usually drifts off, but when she's done I wipe off her mouth/chin (she's a messy eater) and burp her, so by this point she's awake again. I then walk around patting her back for a couple of minutes, then put her down in the crib and walk out. She fusses for a couple of minutes then is out.
So I am not technically nursing to sleep, but I know for a lot of people the goal is to not nurse before naps at all. My issue is I feel like she's hungry both before and after (but I've never tried to put her down without nursing first, so who knows). She's EBF so I have no clue how many ounces she's taking in at each feeding.
If I offer the boob before naps and she nurses, should I assume she's hungry? Or do you think she'd refuse if she weren't?
