I have the Medela PIS. I am thinking about renting a Symphony to leave at work and the the PIS at home. If you used both (or had a regular electric pump and rented a hospital grade), what was the difference for you in terms of comfort and output. Is it worth it to not have to lug a pump to and from work?

Totally following along on this one--I rented a Symphony for home use but have (what I think is the equivalent of) a PIS as well (through insurance.). I haven't used the PIS yet, but am interested if it'd be worth sticking with the Symphony for awhile longer!

My job provides a Symphony, and I loooooove it. It is a million times more comfortable than the PIS. I get a *tiny* bit more from the Symphony, but nothing crazy. Its so nice not to have to lug a pump back and forth. I just bring a PackIt cooler with my bottles, tubing, flanges, and connectors.
The one caveat - you have to buy the special tubing with caps for the Symphony, and the kit is about $69. But if you decide to rent it, I have a brand new spare set of Symphony tubing that I will send you for shipping only

@ms.janedoe: Is it the one in the tan bag? I think mine is like a double personal but the motor is the PIS or so I have heard?

@grizz: So glad to hear you like it. And that is so nice of you!! I would definitely take you up on that if I end up renting. The comfort factor is huge...I have pumped so little while home and I hate it, the idea that it could be more comfortable is amazing!

@maybebaby: Just wall me if you decide to get it! Also, I just looked at BabyConnect for my pumping outputs, and it does look like I get about 3 ounces more a day with the Symphony. So its a higher amount than I thought!

My corporate office owns a Symphony and I loved using it. It was so much more comfortable. I didn't notice a huge pumping difference though, honestly. But it is soo much quieter too.. if you can swing the cost, renting the hospital grade would be really nice...

@maybebaby: Yep, it looks like a tackle box. Not "stylish" at all. Hahaha. But yeah, they told me the same thing, it's the same motor as the PIS or whatever. Who knows!
