I've just started putting B's formula in a sippy cup. I use the same type of sippy cup that we use for water.

we have separate style cups. My daughter loved drinking water from the zoli but when she tried to get her milk in the zoli she would get very upset so I had to get a different cup for milk. This allows her to associate each cup with its contents

The pediatrician told us to do separate cups, but I'm not going to. Seems like a pain.

@Weagle: Interesting. I didn't know it was recommended.
I guess I could use a zoli for water and regular sippy for milk.

We use the Zoli for both but milk seems to leak out more than water. We also use the Think Baby straw cup for milk from time to time.

@littlek: I think she's just seen that its helped with a lot of her patients. I don't think there's any medical or developmental reason to do so.

Ok, not to threadjack, but B was drinking from his sippy cup yesterday, all by himself, and it made me realize what a big boy he is. (tears flowed) Made me a little sad that my sweet baby was growing up.

DS has his own water bottle that I let him carry around during the day. He only gets milk in sippies and only at meals and bedtime. I really just do this for convenience/clean up. I don't want sippies of milk all over my house (getting lost, spills, etc..) but I also want him to get used to getting himself a drink of water when he needs it.

@littlek: so sweet!
@Honeybee: interesting! i tend to leave the zoli on the floor and he will grab it and drink when thirsty.

I have 3 Lollacups that are different colors. The red one always has water in it. I use the other two for milk (an extra when the other is in the dishwasher or someone comes over and forgot to bring a sippy cup)

Right now, we use straw cups for water and either a regular cup or sippy cup for milk. I can't convince him that milk in a straw cup isn't weird. He really hates the sippy cup, though, so we do most of the milk out of a regular cup.
