LO's preschool will be providing hot lunch for them for free this year, yay! I'm interested to see what's on the menu. I'm curious what other school lunch menus include, share your LO's below!

Ours changes weekly, but it is always entree + vegetable + fruit. Pizza is every Wednesday as a Parent Association fundraiser.
The entrees are definitely a mix of 'grown up and kid food', and it is all homemade and much healthier than our old school which was 75% carbs (they would literally serve spaghetti + mashed potatoes + a roll for lunch) I love that our new school isn't filling the kids up on empty carbs, so DS actually eats everything listed! And thank goodness, because the only vegetable he eats at home is peas.
Every Wednesday: Pizza, Salad w/ Ranch or Caesar, Fruit
Some samples of other days:
Beef Soft Tacos, Green Beans, Fruit
Chicken Tenders. Roasted Sweet Potatoes, Peaches
Turkey Meatloaf, Mashed Potatoes, Peaches
Mac & Cheese, Green Beans, Pears
Hamburger, Roasted Cauliflower, fruit
Veggie Lasagna, Broccoli, Pears
Turkey Roll Ups, Apple Chips, Fruit

We also have free lunch at school.
Today's Lunch Menu
Soup -Minestrone Soup
Entree - Chicken Paprikash
Side -Cous Cous, Roasted Zuchinni Salad, Spinach & Feta Cheese Salad, Black Bean & Corn Salad
Dessert - Mixed Fruit
They also have a sandwich and salad bar every day so DD might pick something from there if she doesn't like the main entree. They don't serve a lot of kid food so it's something most kids have to get used to.

Today is american chop suey with garlic breadstick, steamed carrots, and strawberry/peach cups
Wednesday is crispy chicken tenders with a whole green roll, sweet corn, and fruit & yogurt parfaits
Thursday is sausage, egg, and cheese muffin with crispy hashbrowns and zucchini dippers
Friday is cheese or pepperoni pizza slice with fresh tomato, cucumber, and mozzarella salad
It's generally a good mix, but I check it every week because there was a time a bit ago that DS accidentally had breakfast food for all three meals (they served it for lunch, and then I made pancakes for dinner... oops!)

Our daycare has a chef with a 4 week rotating menu. This week, they have:
- Turkey and cheese sandwiches on whole wheat bread
- Chicken parm
- Whole wheat mac & cheese with chicken
- Salmon and sweet potatoes
Other stuff that often shows up on the menu are quesadillas, black bean/turkey/chicken burgers, veggie chili, other types of fish, pasta with various sauces, and grilled cheese. They are nut-free and have to accommodate several other allergies, so the menu is sort of limited (and I've noticed they never get red meat).
They also get various snacks that are usually combos of fruit, cut up veggies, hummus, cheese, and crackers.

@yoursilverlining: our old school was a BH center too! I am in love with your menu. Ours didn't do BLW, and the food was disgusting and unhealthy. This looks like what a BH center is supposed to be (and what I hoped ours would be)!

@MrsLonghorn: I'm generally pretty impressed with their menu (lunch and snack). They have an in-house chef and try to use mainly local stuff (and do use only local small-farm meat and butter and mostly all local greens). We live in a very "foodie" area where many daycares have the same benefits so they likely have more incentive to feature good food!
