I've read that it's fine, even recommended, to continue breastfeeding while sick... But that about medications?
I know a lot of decongestants are bad for milk supply... Any suggestions for relieving cold symptoms (headache, stuffy/runny nose)?

I just toughed it out. Stayed hydrated, rested, continued nursing.

A neti pot might help with the stuffy/runny nose. Sorry you are sick-- that's no fun especially when you can't take anything for it! Lots of hot tea and steamy showers, too.

saline spray if you're uncomfortable with the neti pot. Breathe right strips helped with night congestion too.

I did what @highwire did. I suffered through it. Definitely do not change your routine. Keep feeding as often as you are used to. I'm sorry you're sick. I was sick a lot after M went to daycare and it suuuucked. Your supply may take a small hit but it will come back if you continue as you are used to!!

Check kellymom bc there's a approved list. But I avoided them.

I generally suffer through them, even before being pregnant. Drink tons of water, splurge on the tissues with the lotion in them (if it's safe for baby), warm showers, light activity (walking/jogging help me feel better), naps if you can, and blow gently when you blow your nose.

I could not suffer through. I was hacking up my lungs. Better today. I took ibuprofin and regular robitussin. The kellymom site has a list of what's OK and I felt fine using those. I have been nursing throughout.
