I'm reading to start my 8 mos old on using a sippy cup. I've tried to teach him to drink from a regular cup and he doesn't grasp the concept of swallowing so he lets the water dribble down his chin.
What are some good sippy cups - easy to handle for babies less than a year, easy to suck to get liquid, but also doesn't leak? Oh and less than $15

We have used their bottles with MAM nipples, and the sippy cup parts are interchangeable with their bottles. To start, we just used the handle top on one of his bottles, so he got used to hanging onto it.
Now I just keep one of the sippy cups full of water- we haven't had more than a drop or two leak out, so I feel confident giving it to him to hold in the house and car and not worry about spilling.

We have several - so far I like the Tommee Tippee one best. Also have the zoli bot straw cup but L definitely has an easier time with the sippy cup so far

We use the playtex sippy cups for my 7 1/2 month old. He loves picking them up and drinking from them. The handles make it easy for him and I've never had it leak.

For a starter sippy, I'd recommend anything with a soft spout. The Tommee Tippee Explora cups worked well for us; I've heard the Nuby soft spout ones work well too.
Once Aliya learned to suck through a straw, we really liked the Playtex Lil Gripper Twist & Click Straw cup.
We had to try a few different ones to see which ones Aliya liked, so it may be different for you too. This is one baby item where I would not necessarily go by the reviews on the internet because every child is so different and likes different cups.

We started with the NUK sippy cup. Both my kids took to a straw cup faster than the sippy cup though.

Our son has had no problems with any cups we've given him. We loved the tommee tippy explora cups and now use the straw ones. We also have used a kids camelbak from the time he was 6 months old.
There are avent cups that have a weird top but they simulate a real cup better. I like them but my little boy knows how to press the top down to let the water out and likes to spill on purpose (hes 18 months old).

We use two different sippy cups and they're very different but he's mastered both in the past couple of weeks.
This Nuby one is awesome because it has a soft spout so as long as the cup is tipped enough, your LO just has to gently squeeze the spout and water will come out.

My mom gave us this Avent one. You definitely need to suck harder to get the water out because the spout isn't soft at all. I didn't think my LO knew how to drink from it but my DH proved me wrong the other day!
