Since starting solids, lo isn't as interested in his bottle and often doesn't drink as much as he did before the solids.
Do I keep him on the same amount of formula for the full year, decrease the amount of formula, or decrease the solids?

Our pediatrician told us yesterday between 6-9 months she should move to 3 meals of solids and 4 bottles a day, about 4 hours apart.

Just follow his lead the ultimate goal by age one is to be living off solids anyway, so if he wants more solids and less formula, it's ok for him to be having fewer ounces. I would ask your ped what the bare minimum should be at each age stage (now, nine months and by birthday).

Are you offering solids first?
I decreased the formula, but only because I introduced other dairy, like yogurt and cheese, and proteins of eggs and beef. Not all solids are nutritionally equal, so I wouldn't decrease if you are still doing primarily fruits and veggies.

I don't think you can "pick" an amount. I would offer bottle first, but then follow lo's lead.
My situation is unique, but my OT said she likes kids to be taking at least 24 ounces while eating 2-3 solids meals. Does your LO eat that much?

@looch: no, I offer formula first. He's 6.5 months and I haven't introduced more than fruits and veg.
@Mrs Green Grass: I think he's limiting himself to about 24oz/day but I offer more than that. He does two solid meals a day.

@Mrs. Polish: She said some keep it the same and some up. Depends on the baby.

Mine said 24oz is the goal but mine is cutting back too. We are 9.5 months old

You guys - my DS is 7 months and STILL drinks 36oz a day (which ped says is fine), PLUS 3 meals a day. Some meals he eats up to 2-3 full oz of solids. He is showing nooooooo signs of reducing his formula intake.
