LO is six-months-old and we're doing at least one solid "meal" a day. Up until about a week ago, I've been giving her a few tastes here and there of rice cereal and fruit/veggie purees, but now I'm feeding her solids daily and it's exhausting! First of all, LO gets SO messy. It doesn't matter what it is -- cereal, fruits, veggies (peas are the worst) -- she is an absolute mess afterwards. At first I thought it was adorable but now I'm dreading the clean-up! Second, it takes sooo long to get her to eat even 1/2 an ounce. Tonight it took an hour for her to finish 4 TB of oatmeal and 3/4 oz of strained peas. It kinda reminded me of the early newborn days and how I would spend hours and hours nursing her...

I don't get how this works. If I feed her in the AM, she gets so messy that she needs a bath, so I've been trying to feed her closer to the evening. Any tips to keep her cleaner? I use a bib, but somehow food ends up everywhere, even on her toes! Amazing. Also, will it start taking less time to feed her? Since it takes so long now, I feel like all she does all night is sit in the high chair :T
