I know the "rule" is to wait four days before introducing a new food, but I'm reading a bunch of conflicting literature that basically says it doesn't matter. How long did you wait and why?

I'm terrible because I don't really wait. An allergic reaction tends to be quick and she's not consistent with the pooping so if I was waiting for that it would be awhile.

We wait 2 to 3 days. If it's something simple like a fruit or veg it's more like 2. If it's something I'm more concerned about like egg, or for example today I gave her yoghurt and there is a strong family history of milk intolerance in my family, then I will definitely wait the full 3 days.

We wait the four days. There are a bunch of food allergies in our families, so we don't want to chance it.

We've been waiting 2-3 days. Just enough time to see if something pops up on him. So far, so good...and we are really getting into the stuff that may cause allergies....

We wait 3 to 4 days between new foods but she is prone to allergies.

For the first few foods we waited 2-3 days but then I gave up on that and just gave new foods whenever I wanted.

My doctor is super conservative, so I just smile when he tells me to wait 5-7 days in between new foods. Instead, we give her new stuff as we can. She's never had any issues, and she loves to try stuff off of our plates.

When I started purees, I always waited 3 days. After a couple months of purees, he had a wide variety with no reactions, once we introduced solids I waited a day or two before doing something new. Now, at 10 months we don't wait at all before trying new foods.

I never waited. We would try new things everyday sometimes a few days in between. She always just ate what we ate

In the beginning I did 2 days...after doing solids for about a month and a half, I stopped waiting.

I never really waited. But I tried my best to let them try food during the day when I knew if they developed a reaction I could get a hold of the ped rather quickly. Luckily nothing has happened.

I got impatient and neither of us have food allergies, so I was like @Bao

Usually 2 in the beginning around 7 months stopped waiting

I never waited. The times she had an obvious reaction were obvious to figure out. I just fed her food.

I waited 3 days in between new foods. Once she got older though (like 10-11 months) I stopped waiting unless it was something that I thought was at higher risk of rxn

Ha! We are the only "more than 4".
We were advised a minimum of 14 days, but in all honesty it's more like a few months between foods...between DS's FPIES and his aversions to some new foods (takes a few "interactions" before he will taste some of them) it takes awhile to introduce new ones.

I've moved to less than one. He has not been interested in any purees so when he shows an interest in something that is close to a baby food, I let him gnaw on it. This week: watermelon, honeydew, bagel, dinner roll.
