I can't speak for leaving my LO is a day care because she isn't here yet but I used to work in one and I have to say, of every teacher there, the infant teachers were always the most loving and caring ones there! Don't get me wrong, the other teachers were too but those women with those babies... you couldn't rattle them or upset them at. all. They were always all about the babies they were caring for.

We both love it! LO has been at her current daycare for a month now and it's wonderful. It's a home daycare and the lady's kids are so excited to see her! I don't even ring the doorbell because they see me walking up the steps and I hear "They're here! Amelia!" They have a camera so that I can peak in, and the lady is absolutely wonderful with A. A is very happy/smiley with them too.

When I returned from maternity leave, (before I quit my job to go back to school), I cried every day on my way to work for the first week. Going back to work is hard. But, it was good-- I got comfortable with it after a few weeks. I typed a list of reasons why it's good for me to work to my computer monitor, and read that every day. I don't remember the entire list but it was something like "1. It's good for my marriage. Working gives me something to talk to DH about other than the number of poops LO had today. 2. It's good for LO to feel comfortable with other caregivers. 3. It's good for me to feel comfortable leaving LO with others, so that I can feel ok about not being around my baby 24/7. 4. I need to work for financial reasons. 5. Interacting with adults is good for me socially and mentally." --- stuff like that. It really helped.

My LO loves daycare! However, it's a little different because she started at 13 months. But I love the teachers, they are so loving and they really LOVE my daughter. When she moved up to the toddler room, they cried!

I felt the same way. I died a little inside each time I thought about dropping her off that first day. The hardest part for me is knowing that these ladies are seeing my daughter for more hours in the day than I am. Kills me. But, I am able to get through because I know they love her. The women in the infant room at my daycare are the sweetest, loving, most caring women I have ever met. I know that's not the case everywhere but it sounds like it is the case where your lo will go.

I feel your pain, mama. You'll get through it, it will be very difficult the first week, though. Come in here and we'll support you through it!!

LO loves daycare and they love her. I think the transition was easier for me because DH drops her off at daycare in the morning, and I pick her up. So I didn't have to deal with the first few days of saying goodbye and leaving her in a new place.

I will say you should be cognizant that the first two weeks will be very hard. Even just getting out of the house in the morning with a baby is difficult and the first two weeks dropping my son off at daycare was the worst. There was alot of crying! In the end, my husband was like "Give it a month or two and then we will reevaluate." And after two months I was back at work feeling like I was back on top of my game there and I felt that my son was in a great routine and loved by his daycare ladies. It was really REALLY hard at first but just stick it out for a bit and it gets SO much better!

My LO loves daycare and his teachers and they love him. When I drop him off in the morning he crawls off and starts playing, he barely has time to wave goodbye to me. However, when I go pick him up he gives me the biggest smile and crawls to me, it's such a wonderful feeling. Like previous posters said, try to be positive, it gets easier!

My daughter goes to the one I teach Pre-K at, which is good for me. I get to see her each day and I do miss her all day, but knowing she's near helps. Also, she loves it! She plays with other kids (her brother, SO's son, is 14) so she loves that. She paints and everything. She just loves it. It was hard, even with being in the building, after I came back to work, but the ladies LOVE her. They are very loving. I know there are some bad stories about daycares, but there are lots of good ones too.
