D is about 5.5 months, and we're just starting solids. He sits in his high chair with us at dinner and gets some purees - he usually "eats" about an ounce before he's done, but he is usually still hungry afterwards. What usually ends up happening is he eats with us, then about 30 minutes later it's bedtime, so he nurses and goes to bed. But for that 30 minute between, he's kind of pissy cuz he's still hungry. Should I nurse him before he gets the solids? I'm a little confused on how to handle that.

FWIW, prior to solids, our schedule in the evening was this: pickup at daycare around 5:45, get home and empty/refill wetbag, and then nurse (start eating around 6:15). Then it's playtime and hanging out until bedtime (around 7:30), when we go up, bath, massage, nurse, bed. He was usually asleep by 8-8:15. Now I'm not nursing him when we get home. Instead he hangs out with me in the kitchen while I cook dinner, then we eat as a family around 7. So...should I still nurse him at 6:15?

My other question is when did you start sending solids to daycare? And did you tell them to bottlefeed baby first then give the solids, or vice-versa?
