@Pepper: Good question! We've done 3 days of a few spoonfuls of rice cereal. Did you replace a feeding with rice cereal?

We started with one meal a day, but it was inconsistent and he didn't always get a meal. Now at 8 months, he consistently gets one meal a day and SOMETIMES two, but not always!

Once at the beginning. Some days, we did and others not. Once we authorized solids at daycare, we were more consistent with it. When he turned about 10 months or so, solids got more organized and every meal. Now, we have a routine to get solids ready when he gets home. He's seriously hungry when he gets home.

@swedishfish: I give him a tablespoon serving of oatmeal before a bottle feeding. I'm not sure if the tablespoon of oatmeal mixed with 2 tablespoons of breastmilk would be enough to replace a whole bottle. He still seems hungry after the food! I might start giving him more than a tablespoon because he's always looking in his bowl for more, lol.

I started with 1x/day (at dinner). then after the first month, I upped it to 2x/day (breakfast and dinner). we are now on our 3rd month and eating solids 3x/day (breakfast/lunch/dinner). it's working great! I give LO about 2 oz of solids each time. Sometimes I feel like she INHALES it but I don't want to give her to much because then she won't nurse/take her bottle.

I started with just one a day for about a month and then switched to two (lunch and before bed)
