My LO just started day care at our company site. I can (and plan to) nurse him when I can, but they still ask that I pack enough prepared bottles that if I'm unable to make it all day that they'll be fine. This means I have 3 bottles coming to and from day care each day, when LO will probably just eat 1 a day. I had been storing my breast milk using the Avent sealing discs on my bottles so they were nice and air tight, but then I put nipples and caps on all of them for daycare. I'm wondering what I should be doing with the bottles that are left over. Should I put the sealing discs back on for overnight at home and then put nipples back in the morning or is it okay to store them for several days with the nipples and caps on?

is it fresh milk, or are you defrosting frozen milk?

I think it's fine to store them with nipples and caps on. It might also be nice if they had a freezer and you could just keep some in their freezer to use just in case, and replace it each month or so, that way you don't have to keep bringing it back and forth each day.

@mrs. tictactoe: yeah, I wish we could just leave stuff there too, but they have very strict rules. They aren't allowed to pour anything into a bottle and everything has to be labeled with the date it is being consumed.
