We looked a new place on Friday. We really liked it a lot. We have no complaints about where she is now(other then nap issues, would can happen at the new place) but the drive is just getting to much. Right now her day care is by my work. So 45 mins, on average, ride home. Since she moved to one nap it is hard keeping her up, especially on days where she doesn't nap long. If she falls asleep in the car, it is then an after 8 bedtime and she wakes up even earlier, so then the cycle of less sleep continues.
The new center has smaller classrooms. 4:1 ratio till 2 and then 5:1 till 3. But no more then 8 or 10 in the classroom. She will have the same teacher till she is 2.5/3, whenever shes starts the preschool program. Which I really like cause where she is now, she moves classrooms every 6 months.
They provide wipes and meals (same caterer provider, only we pay for it now). The new school is 2 mins from our house so DH can take and pick on Friday's when he is home.
I think that moving her is the best thing to do. Despite DH and I are not excited at all about the increase in tuition. I would rather her be at school longer and learning and playing then in the car more. But this morning seeing her run into her teacher's arm makes me feel so bad about moving her.
How did you LO transition to a new school?
