DD is almost 13 mo and we are down to nursing just at wakeup and bedtime. She took to the straw cup like a champ and daytime weaning was pretty easy on my body. I had planned to keep our two nursing sessions for a few more months as we both have a strong emotional attachment to these times. However, I have some health issues that mean I need to step up my TTC game if we want another child and I feel like nursing is really messing with my hormones, so I plan to start the complete weaning process soon.

Any tips to ease the transition? DD will have no problem losing the nourishment, but will likely fight the loss of her cuddle time. She is pretty adamant about nursing now - pulling at my shirt, crying, etc. How did you lessen the emotional impact if you had a baby who loved to nurse?
