How do you feed your young toddler soup? C can use a spoon for stickier foods like yogurt but soup is a disaster. Do you give it in a straw cup? What about chunkier soups ? Liquid in a cup and chucks on the high chair tray/in a bowl?

When I worked in a daycare we used the take n toss cups with the regular spout kids and made the holes much larger and they drank it out of there. They were 12-24 month olds and it worked well. At home if it's chunkier soup I just give A the chunks.

I just go with thicker rice based soups. I give him smaller portions in a small munchkin bowl with a spoon and only give him more when he is done. Otherwise when he is done he will toss the soup all over the place.

If its soupy I just spoon feed. LO is JUST starting to show interest and ability to spoon feed herself though so I'm not sure how long she will let me feed her! I think the sippy idea is good.

I spoon feed the broth and give her the chunks. She likes to try to get the broth herself but gives up when she fails numerous times. That's when I come in.
She has just recently gotten good at oatmeal and thick soups. Still makes a mess but actually gets some to her mouth.

I give him a suction cup bowl, spoon, and large bib and let him go at it. The creamy potato soups are easiest for us since they stick to the spoon well.
