We are bringing snacks for DD’s Girl Scout troop in a couple of weeks, and one of the girls is allergic to tree nuts. What are some safe tree nut free snacks to bring?

Does it have to be packaged, or are you open to making stuff? When we did snacks for soccer I made banana muffins, fruit skewers, Rice Krispie treats, and watermelon slices (not all at once).

@erinbaderin: Good question. I think I want to go with pre packaged as this is a new troop (kindergarteners) so I’m sure the parents are going to be extra cautious. I would be if I were in their shoes!

Tree nuts have mandated labeling, so on the back of the package under the ingredients there will be a warning line typically starting with "contains" if it contains nuts and then below that another line, often starting with "processed", if it is processed in a facility with nuts. Having these makes it pretty straightforward, and there should be plenty of options.
Lots of packaged crackers will be safe, as is most cheese and yogurt (by brands that don't make almond milk, etc yogurt). Fruit is another safe option. My son has a TN allergy (and other allergies as well), and has reacted before when there were olive pieces in a salad that turned out to be from a deli that also processes TN. Anything from a bakery is a big no b/c of cross-contamination (and usually somewhere on their menu they'll have a line that says they use TN and everything they make could be cross-contaminated). And anything homemade, just not worth the risk. Packaged food it's easy to verify it's safe, or fresh food like fruits that aren't going to be contaminated....
