Olive just turned 1. This is what she would typically eat:
breakfast - eggs + avocado, sweet potato or banana
lunch - meatballs + mushrooms + broccoli (what i packed today)
dinner - chicken w/ zucchini
Basically very protein and vegetable heavy. I am doing a complete overhaul of our family's diet though and have some posts on it coming up!

@Mrs. Bee: @mrs. wagon: How much of each food would you estimate your kiddos ate during each meal?
L is 8 months old and we just added a third solid meal. She typically eats:
Breakfast: 4 OZ of chicken porridge (chicken + whatever veggies I have on hand + sweet rice)
Lunch: 4-5 OZ fruit puree (I usually combine a couple different fruits, like peach + pear) with about 2-3 TB of oatmeal or multigrain cereal
Dinner: 4-5 OZ of chicken porridge again
Sometimes I'll give her a little avocado, too. Feeding her is seriously my biggest stressor right now. I feel like I spend the whole day worrying about her next meal!

@MungBean: when they're eating solid meals, it seems like less food than purees. it sounds like you're feeding your lo a good amount. i understand the stress (believe me it's my biggest stress right now too!), but when they're that young, it's pretty easy i think. they will let you know if they want more or not. they get pickier as they get older!

@mungbean: I'm constantly worrying about it too! We typically do a lot of fruit with either yogurt or oatmeal in the morning. Dinner is what we're having: protein and veggie, sometimes a little pasta or bread in very small amounts. My LO is 8.5 months and I will add a third meal in soon...maybe closer to nine months.

I love to see people focusing on plants and proteins. That's about 95% of what my daughter eats, and I think it's really good for children. And everyone! I wish I ate that well.

Once my lo started finger foods I just started feeding my lo what I eat for the most part. She started finger foods at 9 months. Also at that age I didn't really worry too much about her eating a ton and getting all her nutrition from food because she was still on formula and that's where her nutrition came from. Now that she's weaned from that I worry more about the amount of food she eats. Ok that's a lie, she eats a ton, I worry that she eats too much
