Yesterday my husband and I went to the urologist for a follow up to the varicocele surgery he had on March 1st. Dr. L was surprised to see us back already. He said he likes to start analyzing semen after a four month minimum. My husband and I were surprised to hear that because his office is the one who scheduled out appointment. They checked his scars, which looked good, and then I stepped out so he could provide a sample. Dr. L decide to throw it out and not charge us because we had not abstained from sex the same amount of days as we did before my husband gave his pre op sample. Oops. But before they threw it out the lab tech looked at it and said the density and count is still low, but motility has increased from 30-50%. Dr. L then told us that motility is typically the first thing to improve. My husband has another appointment on July 23 to have another analysis done, and probably another one at the end of September.

This is what I took away from the appointment:
- it's still too early for an answer
- by the September appointment either I will already be pregnant, my husband's SA will have improved enough for Dr. L to tell us to try naturally for a few months, or Dr. L will have us start IUI.

I'm frustrated only because I'm tired of waiting and 3 months seems like a long time. I know it isn't though. And we have a lot of fun things planned this summer that the time should go by fast. Hopefully.
