As if I wasn't already nervous enough about my surgery tomorrow, I'm spotting. I'm freaking out that they might not be able to do it if AF decides to rear her ugly head. I called and left a message for the dr doing it to see what she has to say, and praying I just spot for a couple of days. but please tell me someone has gone through this.
I'm freaking out big time.

@babycanuck: I haven't been through what you're going through - but I know how important today's surgery is to you. I hope your body cooperates and you're able to have the surgery.

Thinking of you and hoping they let you go ahead and have this life changing surgery you've been waiting so long for. I also hope it goes smooth without a hitch and you are pregnant ASAP afterwards.

@babycanuck: hooray!!!! i'm so glad! from my understanding the reason they don't like to do it during AF is because when they are cutting the septum, they stop when they see blood because the septum itself is not vascular and doesn't bleed, if they reach blood, that's a normal, healthy part of the uterus and they don't cut further. while she's in there they can clear out the uterus for better visibility.
you're gonna do great! load up your netflix with some new shows to catch up on & put out your favorite delivery menus, you'll take it easy and think about your fabulous, newly updated baby oven & it will be over before you know it you've got this, hun!

@babycanuck: Yay! I had a uterine septum removed last year and now I'm pregnant! The surgery wasn't too bad, but I was very crampy that day and the next day. Use a heating pad and take ibuprofen. The most annoying part is that I kept bleeding for a week bc my period came right after and I hate using pads.

Good luck in your surgery. I was not on my period when I had a hysteroscopy in a year and a half ago so I can't speak to that but I will share my happy ending. Dr at the time thought I "just" had a polyp but it turns out I had a septum, which was successfully removed. It was likely the cause of my two previous mcs, as I am now almost 36 weeks pregnant. Lots of and to you.

Thank you to everyone for your well wishes! The surgery went well, I was in there for just under an hour, they kept me in for an extra 2 hours until they felt I was okay to go home.
I had a major freakout about the IV but the anaesthesiologist did it for me and was great. It did hurt a bit, and something they injected into it hurt like a bitch, then I was out.
They did the septum removal and a D&C, woke up about 6 minutes after they took me to recovery 1, did my vitals and then took me to recovery 2 to see my mom. It sounds like the surgeon was happy and I go to see her in a week to remove the balloon.
No weird cramping - a sore hand from the IV and sore throat as they had to put a tube down while I was out (which freaked me out when they told me they'd have to do it in prep), but no abdominal or pelvic pain at all.
IT'S OVER!! Thank goodness
