I thought we had WAY too many bibs, but when she started drooling like crazy we didn't have enough. We have about 14 wash cloths and that is plenty.

My DS is probably more of an exception but he spit up a lot and was EBF. We probably have 15-20 bibs and have 12 burp cloths. I remember feeling like I was doing wash all the time to keep them in rotation. It wasn't unusual to go through at least 4 burp cloths in a day and probably at least one bib a feeding. When he was younger he ate around 6-7 times a day. Again, this is more unusual than most babies I think. You could always wait and see what your baby is like with these things.

My 3-month old spits up constantly and soaks his bibs during every feeding. I probably go through at least 6 bibs a day - and at least as many burp cloths (sometimes more)!
I bought 3 packages of the Dundee plain white cloth diapers to use as burp cloths and they have been a lifesaver. Inexpensive and they get softer with each wash. I'm still searching for a great bib...I have the Aden & Anais muslin ones, tons of Green Sprout terrycloth and a few 'fancy' bibs that were gifted...

@shopaholic: It all depends on if your baby drools a lot. My baby went througha heavy drooling stage so we have over 20 bibs and over 20 burp cloths, we have about 25 wash cloths but some of them are used as cloth wipes

I was baby laundry every other day so one package of washcloths is fine, we have way too many. Bibs we honestly have 20+ and we need them, she's a spitter so we go through 5-10 a day! I would hold off until you know if you need them though. We hvae some pretty ones and some plain ones we got in a pack of 10 from Target.

Oh I recognize some of these usernames from Weddingbee! My LO is 12 weeks today. I have 15-20 bibs. I do laundry every 3-4 days depending on what's going on, but I recently went out to buy more bibs because I feel like we blast through them. I keep 3 bibs in his diaper bag constantly in case he spits up and soaks through it and I need backups. I've also accidentally dropped them on the ground and had to go to backups. My baby has about 7 bottles a day. Sometimes he's not too messy and we can use the bib again, but sometimes he spits up and then that bib goes into the hamper. I'd say I use at LEAST 3-4 bibs a day.

As for the washcloths, I have the A&A ones and in the beginning, it was actually too big to use on his little body. I also bought 2 packs of the Target Circo brand ones that are really thin. They work fine for us. I have maybe 12 washcloths, but I only use 2 for each bathtime (one for face and one for body) so I never run out.

We only have three bibs and three burn cloths so far. Hoping I get more at my work shower, otherwise I will get them once I complete our registry after said shower.
