I am looking for good foods to start off with when doing BLW. What did you start with? What are some of your LO's favorites now?

We just started and have given banana and baked yam cut into fries.

Baked yam and potato, avocado (it was too slimy for lo to fed herself at first), strips of toast with baby food or jam on top, soft pears ( we boiled them), and eggplant. When you cook eggplant it becomes this really light texture that dissolves in the baby's mouth.perfect for BLW!
Now at seven months she loves shredded chicken, pancakes, scrambled eggs, Cheese sticks, sliced cucumbers.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: wow at 7 months? LO is 4 months and it seems weird to think in a couple of months she can be eating what we eat. When did you start BLW? Good idea about the eggplant I will definitely be trying that one!

@Bao: we started with purees first at 4.5 months. Around 5.5 months we started giving her bites of "real" food. She liked it so much more! We slowly started introducing more and more foods and having her sit with us at meal times.
She is 7.5 months now and eats what we eat. For example, last night it was whole grain spaghetti with turkey meat in red sauce. She loved it!
It's really surprising how well babies can "chew" their food, even with no teeth!
We don't even do purees anymore....just applesauce and yogurt!

@Bao: I would definitely start with purees though and ease your way into it. It helped with my peace of mind!

@Rainbow Sprinkles: do you put anything with the chicken? It seemed like it would be too dry for her and she kept spitting it back up when we tried shredded turkey.
