I think of extended as going past the longest recommendations, so after 2.

I would say definitely past age 2.
Some babies aren't even walking at age 1! I think its totally normal to still breastfeed a 12 month old!

Anything over a year but only because that's when they are ready to transition to WCM or another alternate as well. Not because I think it's too extended or crazy by any means!

To me anything past eighteen months becomes extended bf'ing, primarily because that's roughly the point that bm becomes supplementary nutrition rather than the primary food source (as per KellyMom).
Kathy Detwyller (spelling) has written some really interesting stuff regarding the natural and biological age for weaning, I'll see if I can find it!
