When your kids are thirsty, what drink choices do you offer?
Our options are usually milk or water. If LOs have bad colds/coughs we usually trade OJ for milk. Sometimes, but rarely, as a treat we offer lemonade or apple juice.

Pretty much the same. Milk at meals, water in between. Juice on rare occasions as a treat.

Milk and water. Juice at parties and sometimes when we host kids at our house.

Lo is a water freak and hardly ever asks for anything else. It's always water or seltzer. Sometimes when she's playing outside she asks for juice but I always keep juice boxes in the garage fridge so that makes her think of it. Chocolate milk as a treat sometimes.

Normally she gets handed water, but lately has been asking for milk about once a day. I'll offer bubbly water if she is jonesing for juice and super occasionally will offer juice.

I only offer water. She can have milk if she asks for it (usually once a day, but not always.) She's had juice at a treat, but only at my MIL's or occasionally at a play group, I don't keep any in the house.

Water, always. She will randomly (like, once a month) ask for OJ or almond milk, but usually only drinks a sip.

Water, bubbly flavored water, milk, almond milk. We don't ever have juice in the house.

She gets milk with two meals, water with the third. I give her diluted juice and chocolate milk sometimes. She's had sips of tea once or twice because Grandmas have no rules.

@kiddosc: We do the same. DD requests milk all the time recently, but only gets it at meals.

Water.
My little guy (15 months) also loves warm water with honey, just a squeeze, we started doing when sick and have stuck with it, especially before bed.

Lately my son has been asking for milk, juice, and water with his dinner. It's super annoying because he doesn't actually drink any of them.

Milk or water. Very occasionally if we buy cider, she can have a small amt once a day.

Water or milk but he prefers water. For special occasions he can have juice, chocolate milk, or lemonade.

Water or milk as well. Sometimes we might have a la croix or zevia, maybe coconut water. But that's not all the time.
kiwi / 578 posts
Water or milk. We don't do juice or soda, and he is too young for bubbly water or herbal tea.
persimmon / 1445 posts
Milk or water. DD is allowed to have a small cup of watered down juice once a day. For a special treat I will do chocolate milk or lemonade but I don't keep it in the house.

Water or milk. If we are at a restaurant, I'll usually allow for apple juice since it's really rare we go to out to eat.
coconut / 8472 posts
Water or milk, but lately he always wants water. If we're at a restaurant he can pick between apple juice and milk. He usually picks juice but barely drinks more than a couple sips.

Water during the day. Milk with meals. For a treat he gets "lemon juice" aka a splash of lemonade in his water.
cantaloupe / 6171 posts
She mostly drinks milk. sometimes water, I think at daycare she drinks more water. If we have it she asks for coconut water. Juice if we're out for a meal or at a party, but that's pretty rare.

Milk or water. On the weekend she usually has AJ or OJ for one breakfast. When she is sick she can have more juice. She also has chocolate milk for dinner a few times a week but it is heavily cut with white milk.

If she's thirsty I always offer water first, but she will often ask for juice. We started juice during potty training to help with constipation and never got off that train. If she asks for juice I give it to her (very diluted).
She drinks milk with breakfast, at nap time and at bedtime but she rarely asks for it outside of that. If she asks for it, I give it to her.

Milk 3x per day with meals, otherwise water st home. Juice as a special treat (as in while recently potty training).

Water and up to 2 glasses of milk a day. She's never had juice that I know of.
honeydew / 7463 posts
Milk or water. Every few days we might offer apple juice since he gets a little constipated.
nectarine / 2973 posts
Usually rice milk or almond milk depending on what we have or water. I also let her have one cup of something else a day. Usually a juice box or lemonade.
We aren't strict though. She had some Sierra Mist yesterday

water. we have almond milk, but DD1 (4) doesn't reach for it first. we've had celebrations and parties lately though, so we do have juice (honest, OJ and mulled cranberry) so she may ask for that too, but i don't offer!

Water and milk. She doesn't like soy or almond, but I often use almond milk in a smoothie and she'll drink that. If she sees me have flavoured milk she feels she must have it. She was quite sick in December with norovirus and they told me to offer any and every fluid I could get her to drink. She drank barely anything and barely peed and it was a scary time.
She also loves juice boxes which I have on rare occasion. Sometimes I try to hide them if I have one because she'll reach for it...
I saw people say their kid likes bubbly water. Bu I assume they are older than a toddler? She always wants my club soda (well any food or drink that I have really) and I used to let her try it but she always spits it out and looks shocked so now I tell her "it's mummy's and I know you don't like the fizzy water".

Water. Diluted juice in the morning and after nap. They are offered no real choices. It's water or wait until juice time here. I guess I'm mean lol
hostess / cantaloupe / 6486 posts
Oh wait, they have the occasional hot chocolate. My grandma always gifts us these huge boxes of it for Christmas so about once a week they have a cup.
