LO is almost 4 months and although we are a month or 2 away from starting solids, I want to do some research and find a good highchair that is easy to clean/use. what highchair do you all use, do you recommend it?

We have this one and love it. The tray comes off and is dishwasher safe so it stays clean. It's more of a "fun" high chair, so I guess depending on the look you are going for, whether you want something more neutral that goes with your house decor or not

the fisher price booster:
cheap and works great, saves space. i've had 3 high chairs including the boon flair and stokke tripp trapp. i loved the tripp trapp actually, but the space saver works better for our limited space. the one from ikea is basic, no frills, great too.

I have a Graco Contempo and I don't recommend it because has a fabric cover and it gets gross!

We have a Fisher Price space saver for travel (and on a bar stool at our breakfast bar) as well as a Carters wooden high chair. While they are both good, if I were to do it all over again I'd probably get the Oxo sprout. I prefer the Wodden one because it's nicer to look at especially once we took the fabric cover off.

Ikea Antilop, love it! He's still very messy, so all I have to do is take it outside and hose it off. Plus it was cheap!

We have this booster: http://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Rainforest-Healthy-Care-Booster/dp/B000WUF4LS/ref=sr_1_2?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1362408871&sr=1-2&keywords=fisher+price+jungle+booster
It’s so easy to clean – just pop the tray into the dishwasher and the seat part wipes clean. Bonus is you can secure it onto any dining chair and it’s portable so it’s easy to bring to friends/family dinners. Doesn't take up any extra space.

Saving this thread as we're at 6 months old and still without a high chair.

FO booster is great, but we mostly use our Ikea Antilop. It. Is. Awesome. You can literally take it outside and hose it off. Plus, it's cheap!

@lemondrop: Oops... I didn't read the responses before posting pretty much the same thing as you

We have the Graco Blossom 4-in-1 which comes with a booster. To be honest we never used it really. My parents did use the booster part at their house.

@Weagle: no worries, just shows what great taste you have in high chairs a testimony to Antilop's awesomeness!
The only problem I've run into is he likes to hang off the tray now that he is standing, but that would be a problem with any chair, at least this one is light and won't crush him. I rigged up a harness to keep it from tipping on him!

We have a Peg Perego and do not really like it. Too many cracks and spaces for food to get stuck. It is really comfortable though!

We have the Fisher Price booster and the Ikea Antilop. We got the Antilop because it was cheap and we needed something else for when we have company over.

@Mrs. Bee: We have the same on, just red and tan instead. I love that it doesn't take up extra space and that LO is sitting at the table with us.

We have the evenflo mod tot.. No food eaten in it yet but its foam and not fabric and LO likes sitting in it:)

@Mrs. Bee: did you not like the boon flair? That's one of the ones we're considering...

We have the OXO Sprout and love it! It is a little pricey but I love how we can use it for our LO for a few years since it converts to a booster seat when he's older. And it's so easy to clean!
Amazon Mom usually has a 20% sale every few months so that would be a good time to buy it if you're planning ahead. Gilt has it for $199 right now but you have to pay for shipping.

We also have the OXO Sprout and love it as well! We love all its features - EVERYTHING comes apart so you can clean it. Plus it kinda matches furniture so it blends into your decor and doesn't have a large footprint. Ditto on the sales. We bought it on amazon during one of their mom sales.

thanks for all of the suggestions!! i will have to do some research on amazon tonight....seems like a lot of people like the Antilop and the booster space saver seats...
@Bao: we have the swing that matches this and she loves the sea animals on it! this highchair looks so fun and easy to clean too!

@NovBaby1112: it really is, we love it! It's affordable too.

We have the oxo tot sprout as well and it is sooooooo easy to clean. It is amazing and worth every penny.
The padding velcros on and off so after each meal we just take the cushion off and wipe underneath....it is awesome!

@Mrs. Bee: We have that one in red and tan. I love that it takes up no space, I can throw the tray in the dishwasher, put it on the floor of the living room if I want to have a picnic, pull him up to the table...and how inexpensive it is!

We have a Graco one, traditional, large...It is easy to clean, and LO fits comfortably in it and we like it but it IS kinda big and takes up space.

@hilsy85: We have the boon flair and I absolutely love it. So easy to clean. Tray insert fits right in the diswasher with no problem and I can easily wheel it all over the apartment. Amazing.

we had an Eddie Bauer wood one and HATED it. It was impossible to keep clean and Liv hated sitting in it. Next kid we'll either get a booster or the Boon Flair

We have the Boon Flair too. Love how easy to clean it is. And because of that, I felt comfortable buying it used since I could thoroughly clean and sanitize it.

do you guys all think a high chair is necessary?
We have the Phil & Ted's Lobster chair that attaches to tables - and my SIL has a high chair to give us but they are just so big & bulky & we don't have a ton of space... seems like we could probably just use the lobster chair on our table but I don't know since we're not doing solids yet.

We also have the Fisher-Price Healthy Care Booster Seat and it's been great! Easy to clean and if we go to family's we pack it with us in the car. LO seems to like it and it's very affordable.
