DH had to pick LO up because she had high fever. Her teacher told him she can't go to school tomorrow...is this common? Her fever has already gone down and they have never said anything to us about this in the past.

Yes they have to be fever free for 24 hours. I believe that even means fever free without any meds for 24 hours but no one follows that.

Fever free without meds for 24 hours. So if you Went home at 1:30 PM you couldn't come back to school and till at least 1:30 PM the next day if you have been fever free without meds.

The daycare I work at has the same fever policy- fever free without meds for 24 hours. We are usually pretty strict with this especially with flu season being in full swing right now.

When DD was in daycare it was fever free without meds for 24hr unless you had taken them to the doctor and they were put on antibiotics (such as for an ear infection) in which case they had to have had at least two doses of antibiotics before returning.

Our daycare's policy: "Your child should not attend the daycare if he or she has a temperature over 100.4 within the past 24 hours"

I worked in a daycare and we had to send LO's home often for fevers, I want to say it was above 100.4. They also had to be fever free for 24 hours.
