My almost-11 month old loves to sit on my lap, facing me with his legs on either side of my stomach, and both breasts available to him (he likes to hold one and switch, constantly).
When he's super tired in the AM we still do a cradle hold, although it's more just me supporting his head and then the rest of him splayed out of my lap.

@highwire: That was my favorite for so long! Now like 90% of the the time that I try it he flips over onto his stomach and pushes up...so that he's either on his knees or standing, bent over at the waist. And then if I'm really lucky he'll flop on top of me...still latched on...his back to my chest...still latched on...I try to avoid that one now because I'm so scared of the damage he'll do with one wrong move. He's a very active nurser these days, though

We do either cradle hold or side lying...or sometimes I put him on the changing table and stand over him when he is really distracted--I literally have to pin him down with my boob to get him to eat lol.

LO is 7 months but she's still small enough that we do the cradle hold most of the time unless it's during the night and then we do side lying in bed cause mama is sleepy!

@FutureMrsMcK: ugh! My LO likes to switch back and forth. She practically eats on her head so I'm having the same issue with side lying.
Otherwise she starts out in cradle then somehow shifts herself so she's facing me toes on my thighs butt in the air. She looks like she's trying to suffocate herself. I'm glad I'm not alone.

Side lying...I had to stop pumping so much for it to work. LO threw up a lot when I was obsessively pumping 7-9 times a day on top of nursing for every feed. Side lying = instant vomit bath for me!
