My RE prescribed Crinone.

I used the endometrin.

My midwife had me do Crinone with this pregnancy and my progesterone levels hardly changed. When I went to my RE he put me on Endometrin which I did for my first pregnancy and my levels went up immediately. I think different people respond to supplements differently.

I'm currently taking crinone......but my RE says it is pretty undetectsble in b/w So if your levels go up its more your own body then crinone.......

I did Crinone AND progesterone in oil shots for my FET. They did tell me that the Crinone alone wasn't enough (I asked when I was desperate to stop the shots). But I also think they were being super cautious.

@swedishfish: Oh ok. I had to do both for the week or two leading up to transfer through 7 weeks pregnant. Then Crinone only until 12 weeks. So, if you're doing PIO also then the Crinone makes more sense (to me at least). It's just a little extra boost, not the sole source.

Prior to this pregnancy I used oral progesterone which apparently is not very effective and the side effects were brutal. During this pregnancy I had to switch several times due to insurance and availability. I was on endometrin, crinone, and prometrium. Personally I preferred endometrin, but I don't know if one is more effective than another.

I'm starting with PIO injections and then switching over to Endometrin suppositories for my upcoming IVF cycle.

@swedishfish: I did 1 ml PIO twice daily for both my fresh IVF and FET. And vivelle estrogen transdermal patches for the FET. Since our first FET, the RE has reduced the PIO to 1 ml once a day - I asked if there were any changes in the protocol since 2012. We are also hoping to do another FET soon. Likely July! Which one is oral? That's what I'm going to start on, but after this one cycle I think I will strongly suggest a suppository because I'm not excited about the side effect of the oral progesterone. And my midwife said that the suppositories were more effective. This is such an interesting thread!
