This afternoon DH and I have a wedding to go to and we will probably be away from our LO for about 5-5 1/2 hours. Usually he eats every 3 or 3 1/2 hours in the afternoon and evening. Would you just pump before you leave and then wait until you got home to pump again or would you pump sometime during the evening? (The wedding is at our church and we have a "mother's lounge" for nursing that I would be able to use to pump) Also, if it matters, DS is 9 months old and will probably be in bed when we get home.

Definitely pump in the mother's lounge. I think it would be uncomfortable to go 5 1/2 hours or longer without feeding/pumping. You want to enjoy yourself so take advantage of that room and pump!!

I would at least make sure to bring your pump with you. The last thing you want to do is be sitting there uncomfortable.
But if you are having fun and don't want to take a break, skip it!
Also, if you have the pump with you it can be nice because you could pump on your way home in the car and then go straight to bed! I used to love not having to pump when I got home.

I would probably skip and pump before and after. But I guess it depends how uncomfortable you get when you're engorged? You could also always hand express a bit in the bathroom if you're in pain.

I usually would feel okay going for 5 hours so I voted skip...but it's probably a good idea to bring your pump just in case. At least you know you have a private room if you do have to pump!

I would skip but bring just in case it becasem too uncomfortable, and I'm with PP when mentioning pumping in car, I loved doing that so I could go straight to bed!

Right now I am used to going long days without pumping, since thats what I do at work, so I would skip pumping

I would prolly skip and pump when you get home. Take your pump tho just in case.

I would skip, usually I'm comfortable until the 7 hour point. I would take bring the pump at least in the car in case you get uncomfortable.

I would plan to skip but take my pump just in case! That way if you want to stay longer you won't be super uncomfortable.

You should be able to make 5 hours away but I agree with pumping in the car on the way there and back.

I would skip and pump before and after. I would hate to lug my pump around and have to take a break from the fun. I do t get that engorged in the evening.

I would pump before and after. At this point (7.5 months) it takes 7-8 hours without nursing or pumping before I'm in pain. I wouldn't want to miss any fun!
