What do you want him to do? Prescribe you progesterone? Clomid?

Have you mentioned to him whatever else it is you feel you need and why and then allowed him to explain his stance? That would be my first step.

@Kelli_Deluxe: if you've talked to him and he won't adjust the plan just because it's "not something they do" rather than because he feels strongly that it's not necessary in your specific situation then I would definitely go to an RE for a second opinion.

@Kelli_Deluxe: Another vote for seeing an RE, if only to get an opinion. Have you already done a Femara cycle with him?

If there's not much more he can do for you, I think I'd also look for another opinion. Monitoring is important, especially with progesterone issues.

I agree with the others, see an RE! At the very least though, make sure your progesterone monitoring is at 7dpo, NOT CD21, because not everyone O's on CD14. Also, maybe you could talk your doctor into doing a progesterone pool. Basically taking the test 3 days between 5-9dpo and averaging them. I've been told that it's a better way to get an accurate reading.

I think most REs would consider unmonitored stimulated cycles dangerous. For good reason. You may over respond and have too many follicles, ending up with too many babies. You may have poor lining due to the meds. Your tubes may not be clear. You may have a cyst, etc etc. And you may be taking these meds that have been demonstrated to increase cancer risk without knowing that they are working properly. That is why most REs have a lifetime limit on the # of clomid cycles for instance. I would reconsider whether your doctor's plan is actually right for you. Sorry to be harsh. I just get upset reading about doctors who throw out these serious meds without proper monitoring.

If I could not get on board with what a doctor wanted to do, I'd find a new one. I did do two cycles of Clomid with my OB who didn't monitor and only did the 21 day progesterone test also, and while I didn't agree with what she told me. "Everyone ovulated on CD14", "charting is useless"... all I wanted from her was the Clomid to give a shot, hoping I'd be an easy Clomid fix case, which she gave me. But I quickly moved on when the 2 cycles didn't work. My RE pretty much called those 2 cycles a waste cause there was no data on how I responded and how it effected my lining.

Just going to echo what everyone is saying: monitoring is important and worth it. Go with an RE. Good luck!
