T always asks to eat a whole apple but just basically makes bite marks in the whole thing until it looks totally unappetizing. He's 22.5 mos.

My DD was never interested in eating a whole apple. DS isn't either.
I cut and peel. DD usually eats 1/2 an apple. DS eats 1/4. They're not huge apple fans.

LO does now! She eats about half before I cut her off. I skin it first.

Around 24 months. I get the tiny apples from Trader Joes or Target...they are tiny and crunchy and delicious.

J2 has been eating a whole apple, skin on, since probably 18 months or so. The only issue is that he eats the top and bottom of the core and will ingest the seeds if I don't pay attention. We did blw I don't know if that made a difference

@junebugmama: mine will eat the entire thing if I don't watch her too!
@winniebee: yes, with the skin.

I only tried doing it maybe a few weeks ago, at 16.5 months. I gave him the whole thing, skin on, and he went to town! Now it's a fave snack.

We went apple picking when LO was almost 17 months and she devoured 2 whole (small) apples. It's been on since then!

That's like her favorite thing right now. I usually peel the skin though. She can't finish a whole one or even half but she eats quite a bit. I heard apples were nature's toothbrush so I'm glad she likes them.

We went apple picking at 12 months and my husband gave him one without my knowledge, but he did great with it. He's a machine when it comes to eating though! Now at 18 months, that's one of his favorite snacks. Sometimes he'll spit out a big piece of skin but generally eats the whole thing.

He's never been a fan of eating them cut up or without the skin so I started letting him eat it around 13mos maybe? He's almost 20 mos now and ate almost the entire thing yesterday, skin and all!

Once we were walking around the neighborhood picking apples shortly before she turned one, and she just picked one up and started munching on it. She has one or two a day, and usually finishes them. I don't peel them.

She can eat a whole apple if I cut and slice it for her (with skin). Ain't no way she could eat it whole like I do (I think that's what you were asking?)

My son is 3 and still won't eat whole apples. He will eat about half of a sliced one and them loses interest.
