My sweet girl is covered in the stuff! It keeps going away in places then cropping up in new places. It started about a week and a half ago and it's getting worse not better. I stopped using coconut oil and tried breast milk and an oatmeal bath to no avail. I know it's very common and doesn't hurt her but I'm also curious if it could be some kind of allergic reaction or something i eat because it's so much worse than my son had it and lasting much longer. She is peeing and pooping fine after being backed up for a couple of days and having some eggy farts. It's also much more dry and crusty than my sons was but its not like cradle cap either.

My son is 4.5 months and has been getting flare ups that look just like that for several weeks now. For him, they pop up worst around places that are in contact with adhesives, but also other areas. I think it is an allergy of some kind and suspect it is related to a milk sensitivity too. Hope it clears up for her soon! It is so sad to see their skin this way

Hmm probably by 8 weeks. I sprayed breast milk on him all the time! Only thing that worked.

My LO had it pretty bad but it was SOOO much better around 2 months. Her pedi just recommended using Dove Unscented bar for sensitive skin, using a natural, unscented detergent and bathe only 1-2x per week.

its all over her face. I rub breastmilk on her face but it doesn't do anything.

My LO had it awful starting at 3 weeks. It was all over her neck and chest too. It started to clear up around 5 weeks and was basically gone by six. We didn't put anything on it.

My LO2 had it much, much worse than LO1 ever did, and it lasted longer, but I just kept coating her in breast milk and it did eventually go away. DD1 had it for a few days at around 3 weeks old; DD2 got it around 3 weeks as well but it lasted for maybe two to three weeks before it completely cleared up.

E had it for 2-3 weeks like that! I just kept putting breastmilk on it and limited her baths (1-2 a week)

My LO had it for a couple of months too. Sometimes the pimples looked really sore! It cleared up on its own but i can't remember when. As I understand it, it's usually hormonal and will settle down as the hormones level out.

My LO's was awful! It cleared up around 8 weeks, I think.

Around 6 weeks for DD but she had a small bout this week at 16 weeks.

My son had it from about 3-7 weeks and then it cleared up.

For both of them it peaked at 5-6 weeks and cleared up by 8 weeks.

Thanks all! She still has it really bad. It seems like it will sort of fade then flare up and different times. She just got more today. I wish I knew if it was an allergy or something I am eating. Trying to leave it alone save for breastmilk and occasional warm water face wash. Hopefully it just looks awful and isn't indicative of anything else.
@lamariniere: thank you! She is perfect no matter what but I'd be lying if I said I didn't find it annoying to see these spots on her sweet skin. So long as they aren't hurting her and will go away.

My son's baby acne flared up around ~2 months and our Ped recommended we use a very tiny bit of Selson Blue (I think the "natural" version) shampoo for his hair. He said it had to do with oil from his head coming down to his face and chest..? I was very reluctant but gave it a try bc his acne was just sooo bad. It cleared up right away! Before that I had done Honest shampoo on his hair and just water and occasional breastmilk on is face. Anyway, I know using adult shampoo on a tiny babe sounds scary but you might want to ask your Ped about it and give it try

@mauxie: thanks for the suggestion! I'm too scared to use anything like that but perhaps at her two month appt on the 22nd I will see what the ped suggests.
