We are still using size 1 nipples. I bought some size 2 and DH thought over the weekend, she might like it better but he said that it was too fast for her.
When did you go up in size?

Being a breastfed baby, we never went up in size. She always used the slowest flow with best mimics the flow of breastfeeding.

I waited until about 6 months.
I noticed that LO was not finishing her bottles more regularly, so I thought it might be related to flow. Once I upped her to Level 2 nipples (she is still on them now at 9 months), she started finishing her bottles more regularly.
I don't panic though if she leaves an ounce or so in a bottle. It had just started to be a pattern, and my MIL mentioned that she would just sort of play with the bottle nipple toward the end of her feeding like she was bored.

I've given LO some of the medium flow nipples starting around 4 1/2 months, but still use the slower ones with her too.

We switched to level 2 around 3 months. LO was not finishing any bottles even after eating for an hour. (formula "expires" after an hour). So we went to level 2 and it made a huge difference.

DS is 4 months and we went up in size around 2 months. We use the mam bottles, and the level 2 nipples were suggested for 2+ months. DS is a HUGE baby though, and drank 8oz at a time even then, so it was taking a good 45 minutes per bottle on the level 1s.
