At 13 months, I still bring food for LO and sometimes give her some of what we're having. I'm wondering when this will become inappropriate and I'll get the side-eye from restaurant employees?

We don't go to restaurants that often, but we've been ordering her her own meals since she turned one, both in restaurants and take out. (She loves Thai!) She obviously doesn't finish everything and sometimes doesn't even make a dent, so we save her some of the leftovers for another meal and eat the rest! DH and I usually fight over her food

Around 1 year we started to order something for her. Usually we order an appetizer, or a couple of sides (if they have good veggie options), or else we will just get her a plate and share our meals with her. She eats everything, so it's pretty easy to find something she'll like!

She shares my food. Once she starts eating a lot more we'll either order her own or a extra app. I won't ever order off the "kids menu". Such crap!

LO is also 13 mths and i haven't started yet -- maybe later on this year?

We still share unless we want something really spicy. I like ordering off the kids menu at restaursnts...I don't have to worry about toting milk!

I don't usually order off the kids menu unless they have something like grilled chicken with veggies. He just doesnt eat enough for me to justify buying his own meal. For the last month or so I've been ordering something for myself I know he will like and give him bites of that. I always bring a little food for him too just in case he doesn't like what we order. LO is 14 months.

Totally depends. LO is 27 months, and while we might bring some raisins or something for him to munch on if we think he can't wait till we get food, whether we order him his own thing or just share ours with him just depends on the restaurant. We stopped bringing enough for a meal for LO from home pretty early- since he was a year or so, he just eats with us whether it's his own order or a portion of what we have.

LO is 2 years old and allergic to milk, eggs, and peanuts. This makes it almost impossible for us to order him a well balanced meal with these restrictions. It's easier for me to make him a bento on the go. I will give him a few bites of our food if it doesn't contain any of the foods he is allergic to, but it's still risky.

Usually we order something small for her and share our food with her too. We started this at maybe 15 months?

I order something small at 7 months, just to keep him occupied.
I wouldn't worry about how you are viewed by the restaurant though, anything under 5 would be fine to me, as a former restaurant manager. Anything over that and I'd probably have some strange thoughts, but still wouldn't address it.

We always ordered something for him. But that is because it had to be ordered without soy in it. Usually finished it form him anyway.

Ever since she was about 1 year...or she shares why I'm having. I like bringing the leftovers home to use the next day. Any chance I get not to cook, I'm going to take it

Around 12 months. We went to a sushi restaurant around 14 months (just her and me) and i ordered veggie udon noodle soup, sashimi lunch combo, and 1 maki roll. I think the server thought i was nutso.
But, LO only recently had her upper teeth come in. I still bring food from home.

We didn't start ordering separate things for DD until DS was old enough to be eating a good portion of food at every meal. So she was almost 3 and he was 11 months or so. Now we usually buy one kids' meal for them to split and DH and I share our food, too.

We started early, she's a big eater. At first I would just share with her but then I'd leave the restaurant hungry.

@Honeybee: That would never work for us. LO will finish a kids meal and still want to eat more!

I shared my plate with DS until he was about 2...he started wanting to order his own food. Now, I'm dreading the days when he wants to go off the child's menu.

@regberadaisy: He's 6...he knows there's a kid's menu...I'm talking about when he starts wanting to order off the adult menu! My brother was about 7 or 8 when he no longer was satisfied with some nuggets!

@Dandelion: ohhh haha OFF the kid's menu. I gotcha.

he's 14 months and sometimes we buy him his own food, especially if we are having something he shouldn't. but most of the time we just give him some of our food.
