7.5 months. She figured it out then, at least. She didn't start enjoying it until 8.5 months.

Water at 6 months and milk at 11.5 months...Zoli straw cup for both!

We introduced sippy at 6 months and started sending it to daycare around 8 months. He still hasn't gotten the sucking function down well. He has a Tommy Tippee and the top is silicone and he bites on the mouthpiece and water flows. It works, but it's messy. He's 9 months and has only had water in it.
He has a zoli bot but I'm bad about giving it to him.

We started giving her a sippy with water around 5 or 5.5 months as we were getting her used to her high chair. She definitely knows what it is for and how to maneuver it but it still takes her a few tries to get the spout in her mouth and tip it. She's 6.5 months now.

Ahh! E is 10 months and hasn't figured out a straw cup and will only take a few sips out of sippy if we hold it up for her. Should I be worried??

We started the sippy cup around 6.5 months. I send it to daycare with him. He loves playing with it, not sure how much water he actually drinks though.

@luckypenny: DS is almost 11 months and still can't really drink out of a sippy. He flips it over and chews on the bottom. I'm ready to go buy every single type of sippy/straw cup just to see if I can get him one he likes.

6 mo with the straw cup - I got the playtex one that has a mom assist spot you can squeese the cup and it pushes up the liquid. Was helpful in getting LO to grasp how it worked.

I started giving them a straw cup to mess with in their 6th month. They caught on pretty quickly and both sucked away on the 2nd or 3rd time I gave it to them. It's not a huge quantity, but they definitely have the action down. It might be coincidence, but the lightbulb moment happened for both of them when I gave the cup to them in their highchairs. Before I had just let them mess with it on the floor or in my lap.
