Any day now!! He's three. Haha. He never held his own bottle...!!! I always see kids in strollers feeding themselves bottles and I'm so jealous.

He's 9 months and I don't see it happening any time soon. He holds the sippy fine, but I can't convince him he can hold the bottle, as well. He thinks that's my job, I guess.

My first lo was holding it by herself around 5 months but my second is 7 1/2 months old and she won't even try to hold a bottle by herself! She will eat finger foods all day long but balls her fists and tucks her arms back like a chicken when I try to hand her a bottle/ sippy cup.

She never really did. She could..... but she was like why am I going to do that when someone else will do it for me? And then she would just cry until I did it.
I never worried about it, and at one we stopped with the bottle all together and she holds her own sippy

Mine was all about holding her bottle when she was 4 months but once she figured out how to do it, she decided it wasn't fun anymore and has refused to hold it ever since.

@mrs. wagon: well that makes me feel SO much better!! J won't hold a bottle and refuses milk in a sippy (he'll drink water & juice in one)... comfort thing?

5-6 months. We didn't know about it until daycare told us. She liked to hold it herself sometimes. After a while she liked to take a few sips and then throw it, then go get it again, so we ended up switching to milk in a sippy around 11 months...

He figured it out at 4 months but never wanted to hold it for very long. Now at 6.5 months he holds all of his bottles.
